Thailand has an upscale task in road safety. Last year, as quoted from official statistics for motorbike and two-wheeler casualties, more than 11,000 motorbike drivers or passengers fatalities annually. Official statistics suggest such incidents account for 70% of the country’s road fatalities.
Caretaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra conducts a high-level meeting with the respective agencies to reduce the number and continue with educating the public about road safety and responsibility, especially during the New Year celebration.
