A meeting chaired by the Caretaker Prime Minister at the provincial hall in Khon Kaen province. The meeting between provincial officers, ministers and Yingluck was about the severe drought that affects Thailand, specially the northern region.

Caretaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra is in Khon Kaen province. Drought has affected many provinces in the country especially the thousands of farmers. The northern population have commended her involvement to reduce the burden of the affected groups. Ms. Yingluck was warmly greeted by her supporters at the airport.
According to the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM), the hot weather condition has dried up water in many areas as the combined amounts of usable water in major dams reduced to only 43 percent.
