Thai police on Thursday found body parts of a three-year-old girl killed in Wednesday’s explosion of a World War II-era bomb, raising the death toll to eight.
The bomb was about one metre long, 30 centimetres in diameter and weighed about 225kg. It was found in a construction site and sold to the shop as scrap metal.
Police are in the process of collecting evidence to place charges against the Bangkok scrap shop owner. The shop has been in operation for around three years but has not yet received permission from the district office.
