An official visit to Thailand’s first crude oil source

Almost two weeks ago, Prime Minister Ms. Yingluck Shinawatra travelled to Chiang Mai, on an official trip visiting Boh Ton Kham, Thailand’s first crude oil source at NPDC, of the Defence Energy Department. Ms. Yingluck also visited the oil refinery in the Fang district. The refinery is now conducting research, and developing oil rigging, and the refining of petroleum. The refinery supplies its product to the government, to the private sector, and also supplies the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand. The Prime Minister inspected the alternative economic plants supporting communities and farmers following the Government’s policy of Agricultural Zoning. The initiative should also expand into the development of alternative energy sources, such as solar energy, and wind energy.
