More deadly news from Thailand’s “Deep South” province. One policeman was killed and another seriously wounded by a bomb explosion while on patrol providing security for teachers in Pattani’s Mayo district on Tuesday morning. While at a separate incident on the same day, a man was killed and his three-year-old son wounded by two gunmen in Pattani’s Yaring district, police said.
Terrorists have increased their attacks on innocent people and law enforcement who are sworn to protect teachers. Pattani’s conflict, with Narathiwat and Yala, have prevented the development of the population. While security personnel work towards keeping safety and public confidence, critics have slammed the lack of political will among ex-Democrat Party MPs to make the politician.
