Suthep’s popcorn shooter facing an arrest warrant from Thai court

‎The Criminal Court has approved an arrest warrant for a suspect known among demonstrators as the “popcorn gunman” over a shooting at Laksi intersection on the eve of the Feb 2 general election.

The delay in approval has cast a shadow over the justice procedure but critics welcome the development. The assailant, who accompanied Suthp’s PDRC mob, was labelled as “popcorn gunman” as he hid a semi-automatic rifle in a corn sack and released shots at the direction of the public.

Co-leaders of PDRC have admitted hiring armed “guards” ‎in defence as public outrage increased with armed neo-fascists terrorising the streets of Bangkok.
