Suthep Thaugsuban is a man filled with loathing. He said on Thursday night at the PDRC rally site in Lumpini Park.
“If you still do like this, your son will have to learn Kaag language.”
His supporters cheered and blew their whistles in support. “Kaag” is a derogatory Thai word, usually used to describe Arabs, Indians and the people in the South Asia / Middle East region.
The PDRC chief was talking about Thailand Caretaker Prime Minister, Ms. Yingluck Shinawatra. His hate speech is clear: He wants her to resign or else he will force her and her family to move to another country.
The growing hate speech proves to be a threat to Thai way of life. The middle class supporters of the Democrat Party and PDRC have been using detracting and defamatory words to encourage the hatred in their respective groups. Hate speech has been used by the elites against their mainly working class opponents, who are known as the “Red Shirts” to the Democrats.
