Thai Cabinet meets at Lop Buri province to discuss development

The 12th mobile Cabinet meeting in Lop Buri province, chaired by Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra. The concept of the mobile Cabinet is interesting as it allows Government officials to be accessible to the people.

Four central provinces, namely Lop Buri, Ang Thong, Sing Buri, and Chai Nat, is on the agenda of the meeting. Major projects to be considered involve food safety and the development of the upper central region into a logistics hub.

154 kilometers north of Bangkok, Lop Buri is an ancient city dating back to the Dvaravati period, around the 9th to the 11th century. It boasts many cultural and natural attractions. Among them are the Three Pagodas, or Prang Sam Yot, a symbol of Lop Buri, and Pasak Jolasid Dam, which has emerged as a popular day trip for many tourists. Sunflowers have become a popular seasonal attraction in this province

Yingluck’s busy schedule has not prevented her from meeting the people and paying respects to shrines and temples.
