Development in the Province of Nakhon Nayok

Yingluck Shinawatra and her delegation visited Khun Dan Prakan Chon Dam, Muang, Nakhon Nayok, which is a royal project aimed to alleviate flood in the area around Nakhon Nayok River basin, and to be a drainage basin for agricultural and consumption purposes.

The Prime Minister inspected the construction site for landscape improvement of the Dam, as well as other projects under the Khun Dan Prakan Chon Dam development master plan, especially a project to develop the area around the Dam as a tourist attraction “Khun Dan Land”.

During the cabinet retreat in Chacheongsao on March 30-31, 2013, Nakhon Nayok Administration had requested for the Government’s support on the development of Khun Dan Prakan Chon Dam to be a destination for eco-tourism and adventure travel with an aim of 1.4 million tourists and the increasing revenue of 300 million baht per year.

The Cabinet assigned Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Ministry of Tourism and Sports, Nakhon Nayok Administration, and the NESDB to conduct the economic and social impact assessment of the Project, and to come up with a clear cut plan of project management.
