Phra Khanong District: Floods and Sinking Promises

Even with the 2013 Bangkok Governor Election promises to upgrade the flood-prevention projects at the incredible cost of tax-payers money, Bangkokians are still seeing a repeat of flash floods, terrible traffic jams and empty pledges.

The Governor,  Sukhumbhand Paripatra, has failed to show accountability with the billions of baht used for these supposedly efficient infrastructure projects.

With 50 cm of flood water in the Phra Khanong district on Monday evening, and the losses on businesses and reduction to quality of life, the Bangkok Governor has failed to made a quick statement about this disaster. Even an apology has not emerged from the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration.
