Masked Mobs at Central World, Bangkok

Many Bangkokians would not call it an invasion, and with the 700 policemen on duty to supervise the peace, the numbers of white-masked PAD demonstrators were not intimidating to the capital city of Thailand. The leadership and motivation which drives the mob was rumored to be related to a leftist group of “forest monks” called Santi Asoke – while PAD takes responsibility in the attempt to fan the wave of anti-democratic elements within the right-wing Elites. Both groups, Santi Asoke and PAD, had associated themselves with the neo-fascists organization, Pitak Siam.

The demonstrators were allowed freedom of peaceful assembly as guaranteed by the Government of Thailand.
