The Ministry of Commerce in collaboration with the public and private sectors will organize ‘ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) Week’ during 20-29 May to pave the way for trade opportunities in the international arena.
Department of International Trade Promotion Director-General Srirat Rattapana revealed that various activities would be organized as part of the AEC week with the objective to elevate the Thai entrepreneurs’ potentials and competitiveness in the global trade arena.
In addition, it is aimed at generating better understanding among Thai businesses about the formation of AEC in order for them to be well placed to take advantage of the AEC. It will also promote the image of Thailand as a manufacturer of high quality products with strong logistic network.
More than 70,000 visitors are expected to join the activities such as seminars and in-depth consultations on trade during the 10-day event which will be held in Bangkok. Study tours will also be arranged for entrepreneurs to visit manufacturing plants in Chiang Mai and Laem Chabang deep-sea port.
