United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship chair Tida Tawornseth is expected to lead the red shirts in performing a religious service and holding events to remember those killed during the violent crackdown that forcibly removed the UDD protesters from the protest site they had occupied for two months.
Pol Sen Sgt Maj Pichit said the group would submit a letter to Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra asking her to speed up prosecution against those responsible for ordering the 2010 crackdown, especially Democrat Party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva, who was then prime minister.
The Red Shirt movement from 17 provinces in the North announced they would join their colleagues in Bangkok to mark the third anniversary of the Bangkok clashes on May 19, 2010.
