ACMECS: Promoting Balanced Development in the Sub-Region

The Ayeyawady – Chao Phraya – Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy (ACMECS) is a cooperation framework amongst Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam to utilize member countries’ diverse strengths and to promote balanced development in the sub-region.

The principle objective of setting a joint economic effort is to promote the roles of members to the global stage as the world’s major producers of farm products and destinations for industrial manufacturers .
