Abhisit Vejjajiva plans to set up a new institute to draft policies based on the opinions and research of experts selected within the ranks of the Democrat Party. Former ASEAN secretary general Surin Pitsuwan is reported to be leading it.
My simple question: Is this an honest attempt to allow the Thai public to have access to their research data?
Based on what we have seen during Abhisit administration, many research and policies were never made available to the public. Running an institute without consulting the Thai public is self-serving. So then there is no point to it but only a money-making factory for the Democrat Party.
